HOW MURANOW WAS BUILT

The workers building Muranow
The estate was built in so-called "stream system". "Taking into consideration the huge difficulties caused by the amount of rubble covering Muranow building site, the decision was made to divide work according to speciality of workers` teams, organising work in such a way to enable them flowing through this terrain one by another. Inside each team the tasks are also divided as much as possible, depending on the style and type of buildings. All the teams cooperating together according to the common scheme - that`s what we call a Muranow "Stream". (Feliks Weber, "Muranow housing estate", Stolica monthly, 11.VI.1950)

"The implementation of the stream working system helped to raise a productivity among Muranow builders. For example, the Janiak brigade consisting of two teams - bricklayer Edward Piwowarski and his assistant Jan Przybysz, and Ignacy Aruminiak with his son Richard make even 165 percent of quota". (Feliks Weber, "Muranow housing estate", Stolica monthly, 11.VI. 1950)

"In the Equipment and Transport Branch PPB-BOR the blacksmith-metalworker team of Leon Dembowski and Henryk Siruć made 150 percent of their working quota. The meatalworker-welding team making balustrades for Muranow staircases exceeded its quota by 38 percent. As the productivity raises on and on, the work becames more technically advanced. Nowadays, a single worker is responsible for 0,75 kilometres. Ground works are mechanisated in 90 percent, vertical transport in 95 percent, and horizontal transport in 70 percent."

"Nowadays, on the "Muranow C" part of estate, the intensive cleaning up takes place. Day after day the trucks take away tons of rubble and soil. The rubble paths and entrances are being traced out in the front of new buildings."
